Climate Friendly and Sustainable
As we begin to confront food challenges associated with climate change, it's imperative to note that seafood is a climate friendly protein. Sustainable seafood is the most environmentally efficient source of protein on our planet, having low impact on environmental resources than land-based food.
Seafood has one of the lowest greenhouse gas emissions and impacts on biodiversity.
Seafood (fish, shellfish, sea vegetables) has an essential role to play in achieving food security, ending malnutrition and building healthy, nature-positive and resilient food systems.
The United States is a global leader in responsibly managed fisheries and sustainable seafood.
